A BREATHING PROBLEM : A BREATHING SOLUTION
Professor
Konstantin Buteyko primarily developed a series of techniques whilst working
as a House Doctor in Russia and since then has introduced these techniques
to the western world - firstly in Australia and in New Zealand.
Following extensive research into how ‘faulty’ breathing was
linked to ill health and hyperventilation, Professor Buteyko emphasised
the requirement of gaining the correct chemical balance between CO2 and
Oxygen. The research and the resulting techniques are now successfully
practiced by over 1million worldwide.
Who Can Benefit ?
Children as young as 6 years old and adults in their 90’s have
successfully practiced and refined these techniques. Parents of children
under 5 years can be taught the approaches and pass them on to their asthmatic
children.
Sports Performance
Regaining the ability to participate in sports or to improve on performance
are some of the significant benefits thus enhancing the quality of life.
After just a few weeks the client can put the specific training into sports
activity and experience for themselves the increased energy levels they
have for participation and enabling much quicker recovery rates.
Increasingly professional sports persons are using the Buteyko techniques,
including members of the Leicester Rugby Union Team and Athletes. Trials
have also been completed in Australia to show how these techniques can
enhance the performance of sports persons.
